Garrett's 40mm external wastegate kit GVW-40 allows for venting of exhaust gas around the turbine and precise regulation of turbocharger shaft speed on racing turbochargers. The GVW wastegates (also available as GVW-45 and GVW-50) were a challenge to craft; that expectation of a simple design completely changed after the team spent a whole year perfecting it.
The GVW-40 wastegate has undergone extensive CFD testing for optimal flow, thermal efficiency, and durability. Constructed from high-temp stainless steel, the Garrett GVW-40 valve body is designed to withstand exhaust temperatures of up to 1050°C. It provides consistent performance no matter the temperature, offering a 5% increase in maximum flow over competitors for optimal turbocharger and engine output.
The GVW-40 is shipped at 1 bar (14.5 psi) and, with its included springs, can be configured to output from 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) to 1.7 bar (24.7 psi) base boost. Every single fastener, spring, fitting, V-band, clamp, and flange necessary for installation is included, so setup is effortless. Note: This is especially suited for twin-scroll dual wastegate applications.
